Hello List, I hope someone can help me with my problem. I am installing a new credit card software that uses Java. The last time I tried the install, I got the error PUBLIC WRITE AUTHORITY ON "< a/lib/CCJB0250.jar". Cause . . . .:Directory "/ROI/java/lib/CCJB0250.jar" in the classpath has public write authority. If more than one class file in a directory has the same name, the first one found is run. Recovery . . . .:If the Classpath security check level (CHKPATH) is *SECURE< the command cannot complete if a directory in the classpath has public write authority. Have your administrator remove public write authority from (the directory) or change CHKPATH and run the command again. If (the directory) remains public write authority and CHKPATH is not *secure, you may verfy which classes are run by setting the OPTION parameter to *VERBOSE and running the command again. I also got the same error when running the simple HelloWorld program. I called IBM and the had me check the entries from the Licensed Internal Code Log. I had lots of errors with the same Major and Minor codes. Major Description: Java Virtual Machine. Major code: 4300. Minor code: 90FF. IBM said that my Java Developers Kit 1.1.7 was corrupted and would have to be reinstalled and all CUM PTF's installed and IPL'd. Well I did that last night and when I run the HelloWorld program again, I get the same error. When I check the Internal Code Log, there are not any entries there for the error. Apparently, one problem was fixed, but I still have another one. Any ideas?? How do I fix this public write authority? I don't know very much about Java, just starting. I am an RPG/COBOL programmer with about 2 years experience. HELPPPPPPPP......
