What kind of processes requirements do you have ? > Purely java objects sitting on As400 to be called from within the AS400 ? In this case, if you have IFS - it is pretty easy. You can map the As400 QIBM directory from your pC, create folders with QIBM (referred to from within as400 as /QIBM/...). Then when you are testing the classes from AS400, use the UNIX command line STRQSH to get a QSHELL session which will let you invoke java classes, javac etc.. BEfore that, you have to set up what is known as ENVVAR which is the CLASSPATH. So have a CL which would do it by ADDENVVAR an follow the prompt for help. Ensure that the classpath is always /QIBM/... where ... is the directory structure to your folder. > Or Java objects sitting on AS400 which will always be invoked by clients outside AS400 ? You will probably have servlets or whatever which can reside in the /qibm/proddate/ibmwebas/servlets directory. Define this or any other classpath in jvm.properties file which has classpath definition. Then you are set to call the class by calling http://ipaddress:port/servlet/yourservlet name see whether this helps ! --- "Hatzenbeler, Tim" <thatzenbeler@clinitech.net> wrote: > > > Does any one have some good links, to help in the > setup of the java > enviornment on the as400 and the pc (client)? > > I followed the direction, (i believe) in the jt400 > (pdf) but I still > haven't gotten anything to compile yet...
