Our change management tool is responsible for deploying the class (or sometimes the java) files in the appropriate environment (Dev, integration, quality, live). If we deploy jar files: - if it is under websphere we let websphere optimize the code - if it is a classic java program the tool automatically compile it at level 40 once deployed Gilles -----Original Message----- From: David Gibbs [mailto:dgibbs@mks.com] Sent: mercredi, 10. avril 2002 17:02 To: 'JAVA400 List' Subject: Where do you keep your source? Folks: I'm kind of curious how folks manage their java source for the 400? Specifically, does anyone really use source physical files for real world, ongoing, development of Java? Could you answer with one of the following ... Java source is stored ... 1. in source physical files and copied to IFS for compilation and JAR'ing. 2. in the IFS and compiled & JAR'ed there. 3. on another system (PC / Unix) and transferred to the 400 for compilation 4. on another system and compiled there. Resultant class files are transferred to 400 for JARing and optimization. 5. on another system, compiled, and JAR'ed there. Resultant JAR file is transferred to 400 for optimization.
