About a year ago there was a discussion going on about running WebSphere
on NT or AS/400. The AS/400 was the way to go... so we did.

Currently we have
        an AS400 model 9406-720
        with 2Gb of memory
        with 75Gb Disk (65% to 70% used)
Running WebSphere V3.5.3 SE
Running 6 Domino Servers
Running Native Bussiness apps
used for development by our developer team

Our experience is:
- WAS is running well in normal situations
- Performanceproblems occur when deploying webapps to WAS.
- The first load of WAS-console takes about 2 minutes but when we
stop/start WebApps or Server or QEJBSBS or add new servlet, it can take
about half an hour before the task is done!

Now the time has come to start using WebSphere Studio. Deploying seems to
be impossible too for which we suspect performance issues. Finally we
asked for support. They countered same problems and tried to get an
in-depth-look after which we were advised to load WebSphere on an
NT-server...

1) Any suggestions welcome
2) L2 cache an AS400: I know L2 cache on PC but can't find any reference
on AS400. How to check - order - install it?
3) What about performance ? Because WAS is not 'on' the AS400 but on a
PC, data has to be retrieved from the AS400...
