Right... the examples are from 400 to 400, but the concept still holds.
Open an FTP client from your PC to the 400 and try it out.  A safe command
to tinker with is sndmsg.  Have an associate tell you her user ID; say it's
"sarah".  
ftp as400
user
password
quote rcmd sndmsg 'Hullo, Sarah!' sarah
quit

After the quote rcmd, Sarah should see a message on her terminal session.
What ever works on the FTP command line should work for the ftp class,
right?
