Dieters points are pretty valid although I did forget one point in our scenario - No WAS/JAVA specific PTF's have needed to be applied in our environment for WAS in the two years that we have been doing this. Which I have to admit to being surprised to - we are moderately aggressive with our PTF's here but not on the leading edge - CUMS are done about two or three times a year, Group PTF's done at the time of Cums or new releases, new releases are usually done at least 6 months after GA (for example we just upgraded to V5R2).
