Do you have lastest group PTF (5.0.2) applied for both Base and ND (ND
group PTF includes Base group PTF)?  Any errors in SystemOut/Err logs
for
the Deployment Manager (under /QIBM/UserData/WebAS5/ND/default/logs/dmgr
if you are using default ND instance)? Also anything in the nodeagent
logs
(under /QIBM/UserData/WebAS5/BAse/default/logs/nodeagent)?

Both ND deployment manager and the node manager are active. The console
recognises the fact. But the status of the application server remains
"Not active".
