Hi I did some mistake in cut paste of code, This code runs on websphere, and is in a servlet which displays a pdf file created on AS400 IFS file system it creates a connection to AS400, then reads the pdf file from IFS file and sends it as response, using setContentType as application/pdf. I am not sure what is causing the problem, but some times the pdf files opens in IE using acrobrat reader with out problem and some times it gives error saying not able to open the file it is very weird the code is AS400 as400 = new AS400(ip, userId, password); //path is the IFS path to pdf file IFSFileInputStream file = new IFSFileInputStream(as400, path); response.setContentType("application/pdf"); byte[] content = getBytesFromFile(file); response.setContentLength(content.length); response.getOutputStream().write(content); as400.disconnectAllServices(); response.getOutputStream().flush(); Ashish --- Colin Williams <colin.williams@xxxxxxxxxxxx> wrote: > Ashish, > > Im not sure how directory browsing comes into it as > this code runs on the > server. > > How does this code work? > > Your IFSFileInputStream object is called "file", > But your getByteFromFile methods is using an object > called "is"? > > Cheers > Colin.W > > -----Original Message----- > From: Ashish Kulkarni > [mailto:kulkarni_ash1312@xxxxxxxxx] > Sent: 09 March 2004 15:04 > To: Java Programming on and around the iSeries / > AS400 > Subject: RE: enable directory browsing in websphere > > > Hi > I am running a websphere on windows, and i have to > display a pdf file from IFS on AS400, here is the > code > for it > AS400 as400 = new AS400(ip, userId, password); > IFSFileInputStream file = > new IFSFileInputStream(as400, > pathToPdf); > response.setContentType("application/pdf"); > byte[] content = getBytesFromFile(is); > response.setContentLength(content.length); > response.getOutputStream().write(content); > as400.disconnectAllServices(); > response.getOutputStream().flush(); > > This code works on Tomcat, but on websphere i get > Internet Explorer error saying, error while > downloading pdf from site, > I have already set directoryBrowsingEnabled="true" > in > file ibm-web-ext.xmi on websphere > > Ashish > > --- Colin Williams <colin.williams@xxxxxxxxxxxx> > wrote: > > Ashish, which directory in the web application are > > you trying to view? > > > > -----Original Message----- > > From: Ashish Kulkarni > > [mailto:kulkarni_ash1312@xxxxxxxxx] > > Sent: 08 March 2004 23:01 > > To: java400-l@xxxxxxxxxxxx > > Subject: enable directory browsing in websphere > > > > > > Hi, > > I have installed a webapplication on websphere > 5.0, > > but i am not able to view the directory and pages > > from > > browser, how do i enable directory browsing for an > > allready installed application on websphere 5.0 > > or how can i set it to display only pdf files in > > directory structure of web application > > > > > > Ashish > > > > __________________________________ > > Do you Yahoo!? > > Yahoo!
