Does anyone know why the parameters for class and method name are
constants?  Is there anything in the compiler that would preclude the
ability to use variable names, just like we can with EXTPGM?  Obviously
that wouldn't work with bound procedures, but couldn't Java calls get
away with it?

 

Just wondering.
