Try this: java -Xdebug -Xnoagent -Djava.compiler=NONE -Xrunjdwp:transport=dt_socket,server=y,address=7070,suspend=n -cp $CLASSPATH:/java/commons-net-1.2.1.jar com.weycogroup.weborder.SendReports I think that the spaces between the elements of your -Xrunjdwp are causeing trouble.
