Interesting, thanks. Took a quick look at it. I like the appender concept in Log4J a little more, and from what I can tell the commons-logging doesn't support multiple loggers, so I'm now wondering if I should just implement a joblog appender for Log4J. Also, I'd like to have the severity in the message severity in the job log, instead of everything being just Informational, of course it would be easy enough to change David's too.
