Not sure what you mean. You can create, compile and run Java programson the iSeries using a variety of tools, both on the iSeries (like PDM)and external to the iSeries (such as Eclipse or Websphere DevelopmentStudio client).

If you are talking about connecting to the iSeries as a database server,JDBC works just fine.
