Whether a Library (*LIB) object was created via SQL or otherwise has no bearing on the automatic or manual starting of Commitment Control. If the CREATE COLLECTION [or CREATE SCHEMA] had been used, then what is automatic vs potentially manual, is the starting of Journaling; i.e. Start Journal Physical File (STRJRNPF). However since some newer release [IBM i vs an ancient AS/400] there is the Start Journal Library (STRJRNLIB) command that can establish automatic journaling [for physical files in the same way as occurs when the QSQJRN *JRN object exists in a library]. For older releases without that STRJRNLIB command, see the QDFTJRN Data Area (DTAARA) feature to effect similar.
