IBM i 7.6.. the default version of Java for the system is Java 17. Java 21 is also now available for 7.6. In addition, Java 8 remains supported as it is required for Traditional WebSphere Application Server. Java 11 is NOT supported on IBM i 7.6.
IBM i 7.5 Today, Java 8, Java 11, Java 17 are supported. In the future, Java 21 will also be supported. Stay tuned… its coming.
IBM i 7.4 – Current levels of Java, no plans to add newer levels of Java .

Subject: [EXTERNAL] Re: Will Java 21 make it to IBM i 7.5?
It's kind of a bummer that Java 8 is still the gold standard for IBMi.
I would think that they should support at least from Java 11 forward. 11, 17, 21, 23. Did I miss any ?

IBM says: "IBM recommends using JDK v8.0 as your default JDK version on your IBM i server." and it's not looking good for Java 21 on IBM i 7.5 as per
