That's not really how I understand it to work.  I'd make it more like:
  get cursor position
  get home position
  if cursor is at home position:
      send keypress to host
  else:
      move cursor to home position
which seems to be more like just the part in the spec.
"Return to start of field" is done by Back-Tab.
