Making it do those things is not a problem -- but not having either of
those applications, I had to guess at what to do :)   I'll change it to
make it work like CA/Kmail, when I get a chance (hopefully today)

What does it do when it gets to the start/end of a screen?  wrap around
or stop?

That should be easy enough to do.   Shouldn't break anything... I'll look
at that, too...
