There is a major difference between user education and implementation
assistance. Many companies don't like to send users out for education since
they feel that they can be self taught by reading the manuals or being
instructed by other users. The manuals are mostly run books - Explain how
each menu option works. Some are better than others in regards to
explaining the processes. That is why MAPICS relies on its affiliates for
implementation assistance. A company normally only installs or implements a
product once, whereas the affiliate has many more implementations under
their belt. Also, each environment is different, and having a knowledgeable
implementer/trainer is crucial in setting up a major module without
heartaches down the road.

If you really want to implement payroll, I would suggest speaking with your
affiliate or finding a service affiliate that can assist
