Bryan,
I use a MagStar 3570, and I manually initialize all the tapes. How we do
it is once a week we load all the tapes for the week, manually initialize
all of them using INZTAP, then just let Robot do the backups. It's
aggravating, but that's what we end up doing.

Anybody out there doing back ups to a Magstar 3570 with two tapes? If so,
how do you initialize the second tape? Although I have specified MAPICS to
initialize all tapes in CAS screen AXZU93, MAPICS only initializes the
first tape.
I must manually initialize the second tape and if I forget (like I did very
recently), the back up is going to hang with a CPA4278 message (active file
found on this volume) until someone answers the message, which could be
many
hours. Anyone have a solution to this?
Thanks in advance for any replies.
