I'm always curious about those that participate on the ML, so I= couldn't help but visit www.ssaglobal.com, and interestingly enough on the splash</= DIV> page was a story about SSA acquiring MARCAM (PRISM/PROTEAN) on 7/1= /04. http://www.ssaglobal.com/documents/Marcam.doc No conspiracy theory to launch, I'll leave = those to Michael Moore, but nonetheless I had to share. <DIV= > Cheers....james -----mapics-l-bounces@xxxxxxxxxxxx wrote: ----- </FONT= >To: MAPICS ERP System Discussion <mapics-l@xxxxxxxxxxxx> From: Sc= ott Donnelly <Scott.Donnelly@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent by: mapics-l-boun= ces@xxxxxxxxxxxx Date: 07/13/2004 03:29PM cc: "MAPICS ERP System Disc= ussion" <mapics-l@xxxxxxxxxxxx>, mapics-l-bounces@xxxxxxxxxxxx Sub= ject: RE: Query of concurrent users Joe, Would you mind sharing this with me? It includes the 5250 jobs as well as the client Q= zdasoinit jobs and eliminates the batch and group jobs. I have bee= n using it to monitor the concurrent use on our system for sometime with= the same probable objective that you have, switch to concurrent user pr= icing. MAPICS likewise gave us a sanity price for upgrading our ha= rdware. Check with me offline and I will send it to you. --= ---Original Message----- From: Burns, Bryan [mailto:burnsbm@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx</a= >] Sent: Tuesday, July 13, 2004 3:23 PM To: MAPICS ERP System Discuss= ion Subject: RE: Query of concurrent users Thanks Ron. I kn= ow some CL but I am not a programmer so I may ask someone here to make u= se of the API. Before I do however, do you know why WRKLICINF shows = usage type *Concurrent with 174 users but if I query a count of names in= JOBACT the result is 132? Although there are indeed about 174 record= s in JOBACT, MAPICS says that multiple sessions on the same workstation = count as only one license for concurrent user licenses. Many of ou= r users use two or three sessions on the same PC which should count as o= ne license each. I am investigating this because we currently have t= ier based pricing and MAPICS gave us a ridiculous license quote if we up= grade our hardware. -----Original Message----- From: Ron = [mailto:Ron_H@xemap= s.com] Sent: Tuesday, July 13, 2004 2:03 PM To: mapics-l@midrange= .com Subject: Re: Query of concurrent users You can use the A= PI QLZARTV to get the current license count.
