Eric is correct. However, we do plug the customer order number into our Serial# master file as part of the Offline Shipping process. Since we had to write the user interface to get the transactions into OFFSHIP, we just added a scan of the barcoded serial number. In fact, we scan the barcoded serial number to identify the part# that is being shipped! It's that critical to our business that we can follow a serial number from initial start of production all the way through to retail and warranty activity. Especially since the TREAD act was passed. Dale Gindlesperger IT Manager/Special Projects Leader Fleetwood Folding Trailers, Inc. 258 Beacon Street Somerset, PA 15501 The only thing MAPICS really provides is the ability to hand-key the serial number during Shipment Processing. And if you are using the Offline Shipping enhancement, which I believe Dale is using, that function does not even allow you to enter Serial numbers there.
