I believe that would represent the planned release date from MRP of a planned order , if the item is selected for req release, then during MRP if the release date is inside of MRP's release horizon, rather thengetting a release msg on a planned order, MRP will pass a req. to Pur. Assuming you also select req release during the mrp run.
Hope this sheds some light,

Subject: [MAPICS-L] Requisition date for 04/19/2007
    Date: Thu, 1 Mar 2007 14:12:06 -0500
    Hi list:
Excuse my ignorance but: why I have a requisition date of 04/19/2007?
    What
    will cause this to happen?
    Thanks!
