I've subsequently learned that we modified AMBGX in 2000 to remove the
delete processing (for sale reporting issues). There was a comment in
the code which said that "delete processing will occur at year end".
But no one ever followed up...

Actually, if you are truly interfaced with GL, then the GL Period End
Close
purges the records from TEMGEN. The option to Create Ledger Entries
purges
the transactions from OEITXN (of course, they all have to been assigned
first).
