I would be inclined to say that the following is closer; (a) Older versions in PL/MI (probably around 90% of OS/400) (b) New functionality and major changed components in C++ (probably around 90% of (a) above) There are 'stories' of complete re-writes of OS/400 into C++ but none of which I would fully believe. You only have to wonder around the system libraries to see that a few of the OS/400 programs are not from a C++ code base. PL/MI is very powerful and I would say easier to code with than 'pure' MI, it's kind of like CLP & MI welded together. --phil
