Yes, I do remember the disclaimer about CL being the one common "language" on the AS/400 and so, therefore, it was used to write the front end rather than RPG or COBOL. I guess that is a valid reason. CL has never really struck me as a "language" any more than JCL or OCL (too many limitations), although the recent enhancements certainly have pushed it dramatically forward (and are welcome!).
