Peter wrote..... Because we are 400 people, we tend to have a distorted view of >contingency planning. The view, me first. The plan should be exactly what is >says a business contingency plan and NOT a rebuild the AS/400 plan. What good >is a restore plan goinig to do in Grand Forks ND. Nothing! Read the book and >get a good idea of what real planning is all about. I never had a good feeling >until I reviewed the book. **************************** Those are my thoughts exactly BUT when you have upper management, tell you that they think (based on a recent audit) it's geared towards me and my department, I wanted some feed back (copies of plans) to show them that it encompasses much more than my AS/400, what about the RISC 6000 in lab, what about the ICU/CCU monitors, and just the general philosophy of doing business.... obviously being a hospital we are prepared for those disasters outside our facility (school bus accidents etc) and we are tested on those regularly. I think that we all do tend to look at the AS/400 because it is our responsibility, but it's upper management that also plays a role. I'll get the my system running if that's what the plan is, otherwise... I'll open up a long neck bottle of Bud Light... and start typing out my resume !! :-) Thanks for the responses !!
