Of course, without being there I cannot KNOW for certain - I can only hope
the operator understand what he is looking at and is conveying that
information to me in an accurate manner - I have my doubts. As I mentioned
earlier, I am coming in this Sunday (when I could/should be out on the
links!) to test this myself firsthand.

As you may have already seen in previous responses to Tom Huntington and
Scott Lindstrom, I do have a statement in the CL program to *hold delivery
of QSYSOPR messages (QSYSOPR also being the user profile I am logged in
under on the console). However I'm still not sure I understand whether that
would apply to the device as well as the job(?). Also, you have probably
read that we also have a break message being sent every night via sndbrkmsg
which as I understand it (and please correct me if I am mistaken) would not
be inhibited by the *hold on the message queue(?). Here again, I will find
out for myself for certain on Sunday. And if I get it to work then, I'm
still going to plan on coming in next Tuesday night to oversee the process.

Lastly, prior to the second attempt I changed the console terminal
configuration so that it no longer goes into energy saver mode.

Thanks to all for their input on this matter. I will get back to you next
week and let you know how I made out.

Regards,

Bob Clarke
