There is considerably less risk here than anywhere else. Without FTP being turned on, there is little risk from file deletion damage. Most hackers do not "know" the AS/400, and will be unable to "back door" there way in to your AS/400 system from SMTP. Yet there is still risk. Once connected via any means to your AS/400, there is a hacker who could figure out how to get into the rest of your system. Hackers are continually on the lookout for new TCP/IP numbers. A new TCP/IP number represents a system that has not yet been hacked onto.
