Actually, it doesn't mean you have to buy a Dell etc., you could buy one 
of the IBM business machines like a PC 365 or PC 350. They don't have 
catchy names like the consumer stuff, but they are just as fast and fun.

Although, with your upset about the Aptiva support I can understand 
looking to another vendor.

One thing I must have missed was where IBM wouldn't support network 
connection. Is that true? I mean, I can understand dropping twinax 
support (upsetting as it is to not have support for something in wide 
use) but it doesn't seem consistent with IBM's direction to not support 
network connections.

You have to ask yourself, "How often can I afford to be 
unexpectedly out of business?" Get an AS/400.
