The RMTPRTQ is the name of the printer or printer queue as defined on
the host system where you're sending the output. If say, you were sending to
another AS/400, the RMTPRTQ might be 'PRT01'. However, it's been my experience
that you can put anything you want in that field for a stand-alone jet direct
card. It doesn't seem to care.
As to why the printing isn't working, we need a little more info. What
are your symptoms?

I'm trying to print to an HP5 printer using TCPIP over an ethernet
network. This printer does *not* hang off of a Novell server. It is
standing by itself, but it does have a JetDirect card.

I have created a host entry name in the host entry table for the printer.

I have created an outq with what I think are the correct options, however
I'm confused on the RMTPRTQ parameter. What should this be set to? I then
use strrmtwtr on the outq. It doesn't appear to work. I think I'm still
not creating the outq correctly.

When people post to this list on this subject, it is never clear if there
is a unix or novell system that hosts the printer. In my case I want to
go direct to the HP printer via the network.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Is there a FAQ for this list?
