Willy,

It looks something like this:

Address--> |    0  |   1  |   2  |   3  |   4  |   5  |   6   |
           |--------------------------------------------------|
P | | | | | | | |
o 0 | 00 | 01 | 02 | 03 | 04 | 05 | 06 |
r |--------------------------------------------------|
t | | | | | | | |
s 1 | 07 | 08 | 09 | 0A | 0B | 0C | 0D |
           |--------------------------------------------------|
           | | | | | | | |
       2 | 0E | 0F | 10 | 11 | 12 | 13 | 14 |
           |--------------------------------------------------|
           | | | | | | | |
       3 | 15 | 16 | 17 | 18 | 19 | 1A | 1B |
           |--------------------------------------------------|

You set the real address (0-6) on the device(terminal/printer), but use
the hex address (00-FF) when creating the device on the /400. If I
remember correctly, you can only attach 8 devices to a 5294, even though
there are 28 possible addresses.

I always keep a copy of this chart plastered on the wall at all our
customers' remote locations, 'cause it's just too damn hard to think in
hex sometimes.
