Skip Marchesani wrote an excellent white paper for the Patrica Seybold
Group contrasting AS/400 and Unix.  It blows Unix out of the water.

Clearly IBM has been suggesting the AS/400 as the direction for S/36
customers.  The problem is that the original S36E was not strong enough.
The *M36 environment is where customers (who do not want to enhance the
application architecture) are going.
