Correction.
IBM is NOT withdrawing F to 2/3/4/5xx upgrades.  Only F to 2/3xx.
They ARE withdrawing all E to 2/3/4/5xx upgrades.



Abstract

Effective November 4, 1997, IBM will withdraw from marketing the
following: 


     Model upgrades and related processor feature conversions 

          E to 2XX/3XX/4XX/5XX 
          F to 2XX/3XX 


     New builds of all 2XX/3XX 

     3XX to 3XX model upgrades (processor upgrades within a 3XX model
are still supported.) 

     Related miscellaneous feature codes 

After November 4, 1997, you can no longer obtain these products directly
from IBM. 

Also, effective December 31, 1997, IBM will withdraw CISC to RISC memory
feature exchange credits on upgrades to models 5XX.
These credits were originally announced in Announcement Letter A96-597,
dated June 4, 1996.
