The only problem would be if they were using a connection that used
virtual devices (QPADEVxxxx) - in which case you never know what device
you would get on a reconnect attempt.
Also if you happen to be connected via a server job (eg. CA/400 for
Win/95 via TCP/IP) then you can't disconnect a job. If you try it via
the DSCJOB command you will get:
Message ID . . . . . . : CPF1358 Severity . . . . . : 40
Message type . . . . . : Diagnostic
Date sent . . . . . . : 06/13/97 Time sent . . . . :
12:32:42
Message . . . . : DSCJOB not allowed for Server jobs.
Cause . . . . . : Job 233471/NEIL/QPADEV0010 is either a server job,
or a client job with a server job active at the device.
Recovery . . . : Do the following:
-- From the server job, select the option to display the System
Request menu on the client job.
-- Select the option to disconnect the client job.
When you use the DSCJOB command, the connection between the client
and server jobs is
dropped.
