Sounds like it. How much >faster? > >How can one speed up SNADS transfers, is what I am really after. It appears I wasn't clear exactly what we're doing. Here's what: Program #1 (on AS/400 #1): Reads SAVF. Writes ICFile (?Intersystem Communication File?), which is set up to communicate to the other AS/400. Program #2 (on the other AS/400): Is invoked by the ICF function, and receives transactions from the 1st AS/400. It checks to make sure the SAVF exists on the 2nd AS/400 (and creates it if it doesn't). Then it writes to the SAVF on the receiving end. This totally bypasses SNADS. And puts all of the responsibility for retrying communication errors, etc. squarely on your shoulders. But it's a LOT faster (I really don't know -how much- faster) than SNADS (which has error correction and transmission guarantees all over the place). --Paul E Musselman PaulMmn@ix.netcom.com * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * This is the Midrange System Mailing List!
