>I am a documentation analyst and have been asked to do some research to >try and find a solution to a documentation problem. The problem: We have >documentation for our legacy products that was last updated in 1989. It >was written on a S/38 using Office Vision. Our company no long uses >S/38s. They have changed to the AS/400. The documentation is really old >and needs to be updated. We are thinking of converting the doc from >Office Vision to Word (which is what we currently use). Once we do that, >how can we put the doc out on the AS/400? >Any suggestions?? Download the RFTDCA conversion from Microsoft. Then you can create a WORD document, safe it in RFTDCA format, and copy it to a folder on the AS/400. You can then edit the document using Office. You can not, however, add help text labels in Word. These will have to be added using Office. The conversion of the document from EDTTXT to Office is part of Office, but the capabilities are limited. Al Barsa can give you details on how to convert the EDTTXT document to Office directly. Charlie Massoglia, Massoglia Technical Consulting, Inc.
