My understanding is there are certain circumstances when using an update file with factor 1 specified for a READE where RPG can not turn on the not found indicator if the next record (i.e. the one which has a key not equal to factor 1) is locked by another user. This never happens when factor 1 is not specified. Charlie Massoglia, Massoglia Technical Consulting, Inc.
