We currently have a single processor 50S #2122 running V3R7 There is a requirement to run a high CPU/IO intensive batch job which has a totally dedicated system. We have run the job on the 50S and we are achieving around 100 records per hour. As this machine is not powerfull enough for the task we now have a new option. 1. Run the job on a F97 2. Run the job on a 530 #2153 It would be greatly advantagous to run the job on a CISC box. After all that blurb my question is would the performance of the F97 be much greater/less than the 50S? Although the F97 has 4 processors, can they all be used if 1 batch job was running on the system? Any comments? regards Viv _______________________________________________________________________ ############################ # VIV.B@MIDAS-IT.CO.UK # # MIDAS IT Services # ############################ * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * This is the Midrange System Mailing List!
