I'd be happy if they'd just set up an AS/400 and let us have accounts on it, like we can do on Unix boxes everywhere. $18.95/month gets me a dial-in Unix account, ($9.95/month if I telnet in) with all of the unix time I could possibly want. I'd love it if IBM would take some of that advertising money and set up a site for demos, downloads, experimentations, and User Accounts. I'd love to learn how to use VaRPG, and Java, and mess around with RPGIV, and try out some various ideas on a box where I wasn't worried that I was about to accidentaly run PWRDWNSYS *IMMED(FIRE) In <14438D2F014F2600@terimail.teri.org>, on 08/13/97 at 05:11 PM, Bob Clarke 3rd x4502 <clarke@teri.org> said: You may be interested to know that it looks like IBM is moving in that direction by donating AS/400s and software to colleges sponsored by resellers or customers. -- ----------------------------------------------------------- boothm@earth.goddard.edu ----------------------------------------------------------- * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * This is the Midrange System Mailing List!
