The other is largely non-damaging to the environment, but works by interfering with the combination of oxygen with other things, which prevents human respiration from working, in addition to snuffing out fires. My understanding is that this version is still legal, but you really don't want to be in the machine room when the system goes off. If you inhale, you probably won't make it to the door. Peter H.
