I don't think that PC Support lets you do the equivalent of a default value
(which is what this sounds like) within a field, even if you lay out a file
transfer description.  I've looked through the documentation on the PCFL
keyword and it looks like it's just field name, field type, field length,
field decimal posistions, and field comment.

I have a customer who is trying to use PC Support to transfer a file to a
PC and wants to stick a constant in the beginning of the PC record. We
know all the ways of writing programs on the 400 or PC, but what we hoped
was that the PC Support file transfer command would allow it.
Anybody ever get this to work?
