All that *TCAT stuff, while perfectly okay for stuff, is a > really pain in the as. to me. Why not just create a message? Bob, I am new to the AS400 and I am very impressed with the range of things an AS400 professional has at their disposal, originally I am from the S36 world and I agree that *CAT / *TCAT / *BCAT can be a pain in the hinterlands, on the S36 you could do miraculous things with substitution expressions. Could you provide us with an example of what you are describing. Your answer gives enough information to follow.. but an example would be appreciated. Just like in the NEW IBM Softcopy CD manuals.. examples..examples examples.. I love them. And I would appreciate it :) -- žžžžžžžžžžžžž ž-Tim Truax-ž žžžžžžžžžžžžž +--- | This is the Midrange System Mailing List! | To submit a new message, send your mail to "MIDRANGE-L@midrange.com". | To unsubscribe from this list send email to MAJORDOMO@midrange.com | and specify 'unsubscribe MIDRANGE-L' in the body of your message. | Questions should be directed to the list owner/operator: david@midrange.com +---
