We have a separate development machine for programming and testing. The programming people are QPGMR members on this machine. *ALLOBJ is heavily restricted to the system management crew. These people are no members of the programming staff. Bringing programs and other objects from development to production (and back) is also restricted to these system managers using special 'system work userprofiles' which have *ALLOBJ. On the production machine, the programming and system people are ordinary QUSERs like everyone else. They have no access to applications or production data unless the 'data owners' give them the authority. There are those 'system work user profiles' and some 'administrator profiles' on the production machine. These are used by authorized people to do the 'subtle' work. Sometimes production data is temporarily copied to the development machine to track down problems which are not reproducible in test with test data.
