The rule on my AS/400s, and my rule for all my client's AS/400s, is to run lvlchk(*yes). If there is a good reason to break the rule, then break it, but in general follow the rule. The need (real or perceived) for an emergency fix that can be done at noon is a good reason to TEMPORARILY use lvlchk(*no).
