Gary, What we do is: - 30 minutes before EOD we hold all user JOBQs, this gives their jobs a chance to complete before we start doing saves, etc. and it prevents anyone from flooding the system with submitted jobs when they see what time it is. - 15 minutes before EOD we SNDBRKACT telling them the system will be going down and asking them to signoff. SNKBRKACT is in TAATOOL, it sends a break message only to active WS rather than all. - at EOD we ENDSBS *IMMED. Only ever had 1 or 2 complaints about this. When a user did, we pointed out they were warned and if they wanted to keep working they were going to have to explain to the rest of the company why reports were late the next day. So far this works fairly well for us. -Steve Cotes -cotess@data-io.com > ---------- > From: Gary Feinstein[SMTP:gfeinste@planethollywood.com] > Sent: Tuesday, October 14, 1997 1:18 PM > To: MIDRANGE-L@midrange.com > Subject: Ending Interactive Subsystem > > I want to end all jobs in QINTER Subsystem before I process my day > end. > What is the best way to do this?
