PCs and AS/400 are connected by Ethernet and Netsoft. The AS/400 is at V3R1
but will be upgraded to V3R2 in the near future. I'm looking for
recommendations for 32-bit ODBC drivers as far as speed, reliability,
efficiency and ease of use. Thanks.

We're using CA95/NT for this. The ODBC driver, IMO, is very good. It's ODBC
level2 compliant, it can handle 16-bit ODBC, it takes advantage of SQL
packages on the 400, to improve performance. The main drawback is that it
can't be installed independently—you have to install at least the Base
component of CA.

In addition, it is basically free with OS/400 v3r7 and later. With v3r2or
less, once you've paid for one license per 400, you can install
non-licensed parts of CA all you want.

BTW, I can't recommend strongly enough that you move to TCP/IP
connectivity. It's native on both Win95 and the 400. OTOH, CA supports
native IPX connectivity, too, as does the 400 now.
