Hello all; I know that the contents of AS400 spool files is in the QSPL library in a Physical file with a byte length of 4080. What\Where is the connection point between the individual entries on the OUTQ and the data in the file. Does anyone know? It gots to be there somewhere! PS) Here's what I did to save all AS400 OUTQ contents nightly. Works real slick, but it'd be neater if I knew the connection between QSPL/File & OUTQ entries above. 1) Use TAATOOL command CVTWRKSPLF command that allows you to place the WRKSPLF output into a file. 2) DSPFFD on this file to see where my fields are. 3) Use a CL program to read (RCVF) this file. 4) RMVM all members of a resident PF file. 5) ADDPFM a member to the PF file above that is named 'S'(Spool job number)(Spool file number) also placing more descriptive file field items in the TEXT description of the PF file member. 6) Use Jeffs wonderful GETSPLF command to copy every OUTQ entry to its corresponding file member location. 7) At end of the CL, do a DSPFD *MBRLIST to show the file and all the wonderfully named file members along with the TEXT description of the member which has more descriptive OUTQ info in it. 8) Now this file will be saved each night very nicely. And if anything needs restored we use the command PUTSPLF that will snatch the exact outq entry from the aptly named PF file member. -- '''''''''''''''''''' :-Tim & Dana Truax-: .................... +--- | This is the Midrange System Mailing List! | To submit a new message, send your mail to "MIDRANGE-L@midrange.com". | To unsubscribe from this list send email to MAJORDOMO@midrange.com | and specify 'unsubscribe MIDRANGE-L' in the body of your message. | Questions should be directed to the list owner/operator: david@midrange.com +---
