CISC to RISC conversion questions

We'll soon be ordering a 600 model AS/400 which will hopefully be here by
Christmas.  We have specified that we want to do a side by side conversion
so that there will be enough time to iron things out.

Here are my questions:

1) having never done a conversion, how difficult is it to do?  I have
     heard many times to always follow the roadmap exactly as written.

2) if I do it, what support is available if we run into problems?

3) will it be safer to pay someone else to do it?  Is anyone available
     around Christmas?

4) what documentation should I be getting now? I have ordered the
    PTF which analyzes the system for conversion.  It will be installed
    this weekend.    We are currently at V3R2 on a model 300.

5) is there anything else I need to know.

By the way, thanks to everyone for their help and responses to the list.
I'm sure that there are a great many people, such as I, that gain a lot of
good information from this list.
