I don't know whether Vernon and I have the same setup, but I did not have to use a specific name for the remote printer queue. I understand that port 9100 is frequently used for stream (implication: raw) transmission to a printer, but I don't think that is the way it is normally done via OS/400 TCP/IP. Is it possible that you have mis-configured the IP address on the HP, or in the remote printer queue description? Can you ping the printer from the AS/400? -- Carol +=======================================================================+ | Carol Collins Sr. Network Administrator | | WASTREN / Holmes and Narver Services, Inc. | | 2597 B-3/4 Road | | Grand Junction, CO 81503 | | U.S. Dept of Energy Grand Junction Office | | Internet: Carol.Collins@doegjpo.com | | Phone : (970) 248-6524 | +=======================================================================+ +--- | This is the Midrange System Mailing List! | To submit a new message, send your mail to "MIDRANGE-L@midrange.com". | To unsubscribe from this list send email to MIDRANGE-L-UNSUB@midrange.com. | Questions should be directed to the list owner/operator: david@midrange.com +---
