The >Interlynx is conected to the AS/400 via twinax. > >I will shortly be ready to do this. Now the real questions. What >config do I use in CA95/NT at the remote PC? Async? This fundamental missing element caused me to drop the Andrew Interlynx (or Access/400 as it is now called). There is no way to do APPC over Windows to their box so their box is worthless in today's world IMHO. Also, Andrew is out of business having been bought out by ex-Andrew management recently and the status of some products is in question. The replacement product I recommend and sell is the Synapse RemoteAPPC (www.synapse.com) which does Win3.1x, W4W, Win95, Win98, and/or WinNT via APPC to the AS400 attached any physical way. I put this software only product into an $800. PC I build specifically for this task although it can run in any 486-66 PC. It supports speeds up to 115KB (Andrew maxes out at 19.2) and has firewall security of userid/password, caller ID, dial-back, encrypted data streams, and user scheduling (Andrew has no security). The simplist installation would be com1 and com2 in a PC but you can add multi-port serial cards ($500.each) to get up to 16 users.
