Here's the problem:

1.      To simplify things, IBM has you do a SAVLIB(*NONSYS) to get everything
over.  Everything includes your data, and the IBM LPPs.  It's easy, and it
works.

2.      Then, you have a RISC system with backlevel LPPs.  Sounds stupid, right?
No.  Because, then you load the LPPs normally as you would do during a
release upgrade.  The LPP install process determines exactly what LPPs are
on your system, and only loads the appropriate LPPs.

Example, you could have a license to RPG, but might have deleted the RPG/36
options of RPG because you are not a S/36 shop.  The normal LPP load
process will figure this out, and only load what you need.
